hey there is a problem some people feel it necessary to put some crap text like aint got one in the skype user name and website fields could people not dco that it causes issues like more links then are need on a page we dont care if your dont have a skype name we want to see people with ids or people with sites not na or ask me good lord
MG, you can't stop people from writing what they will. It's just the way it is. it's not hurting you is it? Just chill! If the admins thought it was a waste of space they would simply not allow anything to go in these feilds unless the info was varified or something.

Although it is true that people can write what they want, I do agree with MG that it can be annoying to read a link only to realize that it's not really a link at all. I don't look for Skype names, but I do like to check out people's websites, and it slows things down when JAWS has to read a link that ends up saying something like "link NA" or "link http://www.i don't have one". And I can understand how it can annoy someone whose interested in Skyping someone, because that one always uses the person's user name. In my opinion, if someone is working on getting a webpage or wants someone to ask them for their Skype name, they should just say so in that last field. Just expressing my agreement with the first poster. *Smiles*
i agree with tinkerbell! i read the profile lists and like checking the websites to! it's anoying when there are false links! i must admit.
i've half a mind now just to go and put something erroneous in to the website edit field just to piss people off! hehe.
as RDfreak said, they can post whatever they want. The link fact of it all, is jus tthere as a matter of convenience for you guys. I'd have thought that the fake skype names are fairly obvious to most of you, but...well, there we go. I'm afraid, that if the admins did do anything about it, it'd have to be like taking down the whole fact that they would be links. For example, just keeping the skype name in there, and that's all, but then, you, the users, would have to copy and paste legidimate skype names, and that's more of a hassel then it's worth to most of you, I'm sure. So, I'm sure we can all just cope with the fake links, can't we?

well, the skype names, I've got no problem with, it's the people who don't know what a webpage is, and right "na" or something similar. It's nothing to get pissed about however
One thing to also consider. If the admins are worrying about varifying skype names and/or Web sites they won't have any time what so ever for working on the site itself, and very little for working on varifications, and I seem to remember that recently someone was complaining about the time it takes to varify someone? Which is more important? Getting varifications done in the time they can and working on the Web site itself, or, varifying skype user name and Web pages in profiles?
if memory serves, it was the same user that posted the topic about the length of time it takes to varify an account that is now wanting to have all these links removed etc.
well, since had a issue last night when i tried to say this, i think the people themselves should realyze these fake links are pointless
of course they're pointless, but people can still put what they want in their profiles. It weems that people want to dictate too much to people what they can and can't put in their profiles ... make age, location and info compulsary, don't allow people to fill in anything that isn't real in certain sections, you can't dictate to people.
why you can bash people why cant some simple things to iliminate confusion be in order
You can't have your cake and eat it to so choose what's more important. andyou wonder why I don't list my skype info, wait I'll go change it right not to I don't give a fuck.
